Easter Festivities

Yesterday we started out the day with an egg hunt for k in our family room. Even with all of the practice, k still wasn’t too sure about hunting for eggs with all of the other kids after service. She definitely is not agressive by nature. Before service our church had a breakfast and craft for the kids. After church, we went to my parents’ house for lunch. When we were done eating, the guys watched the rest of the Masters’ Tournament, and the rest of us (and n) just talked and played. It is so nice to have a relaxing afternoon like that.

First Easter
Baby’s First Easter outfit from brother in law’s grandma. Check out the feet…too cute. And on the back, there is a little cottontail. I know we can’t get away with outfits like this for too long, so might as well do it when we can, right?

I’m glad k agreed to wear this hat some of the time this year. Last year was a no-go. I like the idea of a new dress for Easter. I remember having a new one every year, sometimes made by my mom. I bought this one for k during the after-Easter sales last year. I already have k’s dress for next year!

Rolling Along

We’re slowly getting into a routine around here. My mom helped k get ready for some Easter activities this week. On Tuesday she hid plastic eggs for k in the living room so k would know what to do this weekend. Today she brought over hardboiled eggs for k to dye.

Family Visit

Unfortunate timing. D’s sister came to visit us a couple of weeks ago, thinking she would see baby n, but unfortunately, he wasn’t born until the next day. The trip wasn’t a total loss, since she had other business to take care of, but still. Then, D’s brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and parents booked flights to see baby n last Thurs…the day k landed in the hospital! Wow, the timing could not have been worse. Of course, it was no one’s fault, as life is just unpredictable. D’s family was very understanding of us spending most of our time in the hospital during their stay. At least we were able to go out to dinner with them, and D was able to show his parents around Dana Point and Laguna one day.

Waiting

Well, I expected that I would be in the hospital by now, but apparently baby n has other plans. We’re crossing our fingers for this weekend for various reasons. In the meantime, we’re sticking close to home. Here are some things I’ve been meaning to post from the past week. Might as well blog now, while I have the time, right?

Last week k and I participated in Orange County Restaurant Week at the Wolfgang Puck Bistro @ South Coast Plaza for lunch. For $10 we enjoyed a mixed green salad, turkey club sandwich, and a trio of cookies. (Usually the sandwich is $10 by itself!) I told k that we should get a box so that we could save part of the sandwich for daddy. Her response? “No box, eat now!” Well, it was a big sandwich, so we did save part of it, plus we shared the cookies with D, too.

Last weekend we had what we thought was our last weekend outing as a threesome at Bella Terra. I wanted to try the cupcakes at Starbucks. It was pretty, so I had to take a picture:

It tasted good, too. I’ve never had a Sprinkles cupcake, or any other “trendy” cupcake, for that matter, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to.

Very Pregnant
I don’t have many pictures of pregnant me, so I had D take this one last night to commemorate my hugeness.

Preparing for Baby

This weekend has been filled with anticipation and preparation for baby #2. I threw out trash, went to Goodwill, got gas, put in baby seats, finished my taxes, prepared to send my property tax reassessment, and today I am going to get a haircut.

Since we will be busy, I also wanted to get some blogging out of the way. I have noticed that when I set goals, I am more productive. So here are some updated goals; some I am doing OK, others I am not.

Network with my KSOB classmates. (My LinkedIn & Facebook network is blowing up)
Work at Mazda (3 years in April!)
Half & Full Marathon (signed up for Long Beach; 2nd H.M. in 9 minute pace?)
Bible Study Fellowship (4th year; hoping I don’t get kicked out for missing too many sessions!)
Baja Missions (Well not this year!)

Finally, L and I are planning on going to Utah in the fall. Thought I might put it on my blog, so L won’t want to back out. =)

Nesting Mode

Now that I am on maternity leave, I am determined to get our home in order. Unfortunately, you can’t really see the results yet. Sometimes you have to make a mess in order to create order. One “instant” result was putting a stretch slipcover from Target on our hand-me-down couch, which my mom suggested. It looks pretty good when you tuck it in, but you must be diligent about re-tucking.
