Disclosure: I received a sample in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
As I have mentioned before, our ten-year old son really likes toys that involve building. From Legos to robots to circuit boards, if it involves putting together small parts, he is interested! Therefore, as soon as I saw Power Blox Light ‘N Flight by E-Blox, I knew it would be right up his alley.
The Power Blox line is unique in that it includes specialty parts such as a motor block, battery block (requires 9V battery), a switch, and LED lights. This 58 piece set includes parts to build five different designs that are featured on the box: helicopter, airboat, fan shooter, double fan launcher, and airplane. Although the box only includes directions for building the airplane, there are a lot more build instructions available at www.myeblox.com.
Of course, the possibilities for creating your own unique builds are actually endless. The only limit is your imagination! This is especially true considering that the Power Blox sets are compatible with other toy brick sets, such as Legos. I am a fan of any toy that promotes STEAM skills, and this Power Blox set does just that.
Note: I would not recommend playing with this toy outside. It launches the propeller really high and can be difficult to retrieve in the bushes or grass. We learned the hard way-ha!
I made a short video that shows just how high the Power Blox Light ‘N Flight airplane propeller can fly!
Power Blox Light ‘N Flight is recommended for ages 8 and up and is available for purchase here.
